Open bounties
Deals with no named payee. The first claimant is paid when the Term is true.
What a bounty is
A bounty is a Deal created with the payee set to the zero address. Nobody is named. When the Term is true, the first address to call claim(trancheIndex) is paid the tranche, minus the 1 % fee.
Use a bounty when the result matters more than who delivers it: a listing, a graduation, a liquidity target.
Rules
- Bounties use Metric mode. Handshake needs a named payee to mark delivery.
- A bounty starts in state Active. There is nobody to accept.
- The payer cannot cancel a bounty. Once posted, the offer stands until the deadline.
- Bounties have no payee bond.
claimworks while the tranche is open and its Term reads true. Callingsettleon a true bounty tranche reverts withUseClaim.- If the deadline passes with the Term false, anyone can call
settleand the tranche is refunded to the payer. - Clock tranches cannot be claimed. A partial Term has no single moment of completion to claim.
Multiple tranches
A bounty can have several tranches. Each is claimed separately, possibly by different addresses.
Who should claim
The Term decides whether the bounty is payable, not who caused the result. Any address can call claim once it is true. A claim transaction is public before it is mined, so it can be copied by a faster sender.
Bounties suit results where the payer is glad to pay whoever claims first. If the work must be paid to a specific person, name them as payee.
Example
A project posts 500 HYPE for a HyperCore listing of its token, with a 30-day deadline. On day 12 the token is listed. The Listed Term reads true. The first address to call claim(0) receives 495 HYPE. The Treasury receives 5 HYPE. The deal ends Settled.
